Welcome to the Unofficial Blackpool Tramway 125th Anniversary website – a joint venture between British Trams Online and Tramways Monthly.
2010 sees the 125th anniversary of the world famous Blackpool tram system, which was Britain's first electric street tramway. To mark this momentous occasion, a series of special events are due to take place in the town during the year, culminating in a week-long celebration in September which will include several tram tours, a depot open day and a procession. Many preserved trams will be visiting Blackpool to take part in the festivities, and will be joined by some of Blackpool Transport's own unique fleet of historic vehicles.
This website will be kept up-to-date with all the latest news and updates as the tramway prepares for the 125th Anniversary Celebrations, and will feature extensive coverage of the events as they unfold.
